Dengue Awareness Program

🦟 STAY AWARE, PREVENT DENGUE

Dengue is preventable, and awareness is our first line of defense. Dengue fever is spread by infected Aedes mosquitoes, which commonly breed in clean, stagnant water around homes, schools, offices, and hospitals. By taking simple preventive measures, we can protect ourselves, our families, and our communities.

Keep your surroundings clean and free from stagnant water. Regularly check flower pots, buckets, discarded containers, roof gutters, drains, tires, and other places where water can collect. Empty, clean, or cover water containers properly and make sure there is no standing water where mosquitoes can breed.

Protect yourself from mosquito bites. Use mosquito nets, screens, repellents, and protective clothing, especially during the daytime when Aedes mosquitoes are most active. Encourage children and elderly family members to take extra precautions.

Know the warning signs of dengue. High fever, severe headache, pain behind the eyes, muscle and joint pain, nausea, vomiting, and skin rash can be symptoms of dengue. If dengue is suspected, seek medical advice promptly and avoid self-medication, especially with aspirin or ibuprofen unless advised by a healthcare professional.

Dengue prevention is everyone’s responsibility. A clean home, a clean workplace, and a clean community can make a big difference. Remove stagnant water, prevent mosquito breeding, stay alert, and help stop dengue before it spreads.
